Roulette is one of the most popular casino games with millions of players trying their luck at tables around the world. With a casino game this popular, the rules and the different types of wagers should be clear to everyone, right? Some will know their way around a bit, but the roulette table is uncharted territory for others. Regardless of how much you know about this fascinating game, it can’t hurt to read through the following tips and maybe learn a thing or two.
The basic rules
The rules of roulette are simple and easy to learn. The wheel contains a series of red and black segments numbered 1 to 36, as well as a green area that corresponds to zero (this can vary a bit, but this European model is the most common). The same numbers and colors are available on the table as in roulette, with a few additional segments available for wagers. Once all the bets are placed on the table, the dealer spins the roulette wheel and plays the ball and where the ball stops the number, color or group of winners is displayed. The player who has chosen the correct segment receives a prize.
Tips for missions
There are several ways to wager, from a single number to a group of numbers or combinations that yield different winnings. The math is simple too: the more numbers you choose, the greater the chances of winning, so fewer amounts are won. The two categories of assignments are internal and external assignments, which are divided as follows:
Simple opportunities
Red or black : the color of the winning number is used.
Even or Odd : Bet on whether the winning number is even or odd.
1 to 18/19 to 36 : Here you tip on whether the winning number will be higher or lower than 19.
Multiple opportunities
Plein : Only one number is wagered, with the chips placed within a single numbered field.
Cheval : A bet is made on two numbers in a row, with the chips placed on the line that separates the two numbers.
Transverse pleine : A bet is made on three consecutive numbers with the chips placed in the top left corner of the line.
Six in a row: a bet is made on two adjacent lines with the chips placed in the corner that separates the two lines.
Carré / Square : A bet is made on four numbers on one corner of the table, with the chips placed on the lines converging between the four numbers.
Trio : You bet on three numbers with the zero, with the chips placed between the zero and two other numbers.
Groups of 12 (douzaines) : You bet on one of the three groups of 12 on the table.
Columns : Last but not least, there is also the option of betting on a column consisting of 12 numbers.
